Aamir Khan, a 25-year-old IAS official from Rajasthan, was born on September 5, 1992. Following his education, he attempted various Engineering entrance exams and passed virtually all of them, gaining admission to IIT, Mandi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. During this period, he learned about Shah Faisal, the UPSC Civil Services Examination topper, and decided to take the IAS test.

Family, Caste & Wife

Athar Aamir is from Anantnag, Kashmir, and comes from a Sunni Muslim family. Mohammad Shafi Khan, his father, is a teacher, while his mother is a housewife. He has two younger sisters and a younger brother.

Tina, Aamir’s future wife, first met him in 2015 at the DOPT headquarters in Delhi for an IAS felicitation event. During their IAS training at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy for Administration in Mussoorie, they became friends. During this time, they took trips to the Netherlands, Paris, and Rome. He married Tina Dabi on March 20, 2018 (Court marriage) and later on April 7, 2018, after passing the IAS test in 2016. (Religious marriage rituals).

The IAS couple filed for divorce with mutual agreement in a Jaipur family court in November 2020, after two years of marriage. Tina had already changed her surname to Khan on social media, and Athar had also unfollowed her on Instagram around the same time.


From the time he was in elementary school, he was a genius. He not only excelled in school, but also shown skill in other areas, winning the ‘Best Young Scientist’ prize at the National Children’s Science Competition. By the influence of all-India UPSC Examination topper Shah Faisal, he acquired an interest in the IAS while pursuing his B.Tech. He passed the railways test in 2014 and was offered a position in the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). But, rather of performing this work, he chose to pursue IAS training. He passed the Civil Services Examination (UPSC) in 2016 with a second-place finish with a score of 50.27 percent on his first try.
